Physical Environment Study of Traditional Village Patterns in Jinxi County, Jiangxi Province Based on CFD Simulation

As a theory in ancient China, Feng Shui is used terrain exploring to find ideal living environments. In this study, 62 traditional villages documented on China’s and Jiangxi’s protection lists Jinxi County, Jiangxi Province were divided into four categories according their landscape patterns simulated by CFD (computational fluid dynamics) with PHOENICS quantitatively analyzed based wind thermal The results showed that hills greatly improve the environment of when they are windward direction. Concerning environments, water vegetation effectively reduced summer temperatures villages, while kept warm winter. This paper verified positive effect elements such as mountains, forests improvement environments rationality site election principle Bei Shan Mian Shui, also known back mountain facing water, which upheld Shui. explored philosophy village location selection, demonstrating ecological wisdom Chinese people creating good environment, provides new direction for current sustainable development planning.
